BAKED FISH

WHAT GOES IN

Medium sized fish (800 gms) – 1 no
Salt – 1/2 tspn
Black pepper powder – 1/2 tspn
Oil – 15 ml

Sauce

Butter – 50 gms
Ginger paste – 5 gms
Garlic paste – 20 gms
Red chilly paste – 10 gms
Tomato puree – 250 gms
Onion chopped – 50 gms
Coriander leaves chopped – 30 gms
Lime juice – 10 ml
Salt – 1/2 tspn
Cumin powder – 1/2 tspn
Green peas / Soya beans – 100 gms
(Cooked)

HOW TO PREPARE

1. Remove scales and the internal organs of fish and wash well.
2. Smear the seasoning all over the fish and keep for 30 mts.
3. Bake fish in a preheated oven at 190°C for 30 mts. Smear oil frequently during baking.
4. Melt butter in a pan and saute garlic, red chilly and onion for about 3 mts. in a slow fire.
5. Add soya beans and stir for a minute then add tomato puree, seasonings and cook until it reaches sauce consistency and remove from fire.
6. Usually the fish is sliced after baking. Then served with prepared bean sauce, lettuce leaves and lemon pieces.

Accompaniment: Bread
Cooking time: 90 mts.
